New York, New York!

It was 7:30am Friday morning and instead of getting ready to head to work, Jon and I were on the megabus headed to New York City. We arrived at 10:30am and I swear the moment our feet hit the city street, we didn't stop moving.

We immediately checked into our hotel room at The New Yorker to drop off our luggage and freshen up.

Next was lunch at John's Pizzeria (recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel) which certainly didn't disappoint! The mural and ceiling were too amazing to not snap a picture.

After our belly's were full we decided to walk around Times Square for a bit.

{Can't pass up an opportunity to get a picture with Puss in Boots}

Then we took a cab to The Central Park Zoo where we spent about an hour or so admiring the animals. My favorite part was the petting zoo- I have a true passion and love for all animals.

{This guy was so generous to let me pet him}

Before we knew it, it was 3:00pm so we took a cab back to the hotel. There was this cute little spot across the street with a rooftop bar so we decided to stop in for a drink real quick. Maybe we will head back to Lucy's Cantina Royale and try out the food next time?

{The view from Lucy's- you can see how close our hotel was}

Back to the room we went to freshen up again and get ready for the evening. We had 5:00pm dinner reservations at Anejo (recommended to us by Jon's coworker) and I have to say it was the best "mexican" food I've ever had.  They specialize in authentic mexican small plates with a modern flare. Everything was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back! Oh and they were voted the best margarita in New York... mmmmm soo good :)

{My top is from Venus}

{We started with the happy hour nachos and margaritas (Jon insisted on ordering a side of pork for himself)}

{I got the shrimp tacos}

{While Jon got the sopes de pato...}

7:00pm was the highlight of our trip... the Eric Church concert! Brandy Clark and Dwight Yoakam played first. Around 9:00pm Eric Church finally came out and played until 11:30pm. Great show and we had the time of our lives!!!

Our night didn't end there. When I said we didn't stop moving, I really mean it. Next we headed to Times Scare where we were really looking forward to getting scared since we have yet to do a haunted attraction this Fall. At first the line looked small but that was a misconception because little did we know we had 3 more lines to wait in! After waiting about 40 minutes, we decided to leave because at that point I was exhausted and I knew we still had to walk back to the hotel. Certainly a disappointment! So we picked up a snack on the way back and finally called it a night.

We decided to sleep in Saturday morning. Check out was at noon so we handed our keys in and checked our luggage so we could head out for lunch and not worry about our bags. For just $2 it was well worth it. To Restaurant Avenue we went where we chose Bourbon Street as our place for lunch. 5 Napkin looked good too so maybe we will try that next time?

After a delicious lunch we decided to walk around a bit before picking up our bags and then heading to the bus. We were back in Baltimore by 7:00pm absolutely exhausted but so content with how we spent the little time that we had in NY. We can't wait for our next trip their... we absolutely love that city especially because it was the place we got engaged!

XoXo
