Baltimore's Adoptable Dogs, March 2015

Jada adoptable through Bella's Bully Buddies

Jada is enjoying life in her foster home, getting along well with her four legged foster sisters and loves to be outside.  She has a great zest for life and loves to explore outside. Jada previously lived with smaller dogs and with a proper introduction would likely do well with almost any dog.  She gets excited but is pretty easy to calm down.  Jada loves toys, especially ones she can throw around by herself or can play tug with!  She likes her food, but is always careful to eat slowly and take treats gently.  Jada is perfectly content lounging on a comfy bed laid out for her, but if you invite her to snuggle you'll see that she is awesome at it! Jada's foster family feels that a family that has a moderate level of activity, likes to be outside, understands that 50 pound dogs can be lap dogs too and like to laugh and say 'Awwww' would be a perfect fit!

Oliver adoptable at BARCS

4 years old – altered male – 56 lbs
Oliver is quite the special guy. He was originally at BARCS 2.5 years ago and staff and volunteers have quickly been reminded of why we love him so. This big dufus has tons of personality and an all around happy-go-lucky demeanor. During his previous shelter stint Oliver spent a couple of months in our foster program prior to adoption. He lived and played well with both a male and female dog companion. He was and appears to still be crate trained, walks fairly well on a leash and housebroken. Now back at the shelter he spends his day shelling out sloppy kisses to anyone who will have him! Oliver was rehomed from his original adopter and what has transpired since is just heartbreaking. Oliver was found by another municipal animal control in a vacant house with deceased animals. He was starving and emaciated at only 36 lbs. No one knows how long he was left there for and it’s too sad to even think about. Oliver was transferred here after almost a month at the other shelter, now weighing 56 lbs- he still has some weight to gain. Oliver was assessed off leash with both male and female dogs today and while he did display signs of nervous and dominant behavior he completely avoided confrontation and co-existed well with the dogs in the play yard. After all this guy has been through, we're hopeful continued exposure will regain his confidence and he can once again be a social butterfly! We would really love to get Oliver into a stable rescue environment where he will surely flourish with the promise of a future he very much deserves! Who can say no to this face?!

To adopt, please come on down to the shelter!
