Everywhere I take this dish (parties, tailgates, family gatherings, etc.) it's a hit! I get so many compliments and yet it's incredibly easy to make. Here's the recipe!
What you'll need:
1 pound of ground beef (meat version) or 1 can of refried beans (veggie version)
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 16oz. sour cream
1 packet of ranch dip mix
1 onion
1 tomato
1 bag of shredded cheese
1 bag of tortilla chips
What to do:
1. Cook ground beef with taco seasoning (meat version) or combine refried beans with taco seasoning (veggie version)
2. Combine sour cream and ranch dip mix
3. Chop onion and tomato
4. If you're doing the meat version you will use the sour cream mix for your first layer, then ground beef mix, onion, tomato, and top with shredded cheese. If you're doing the veggie version you will use the refried beans mix for your first layer, then sour cream mix, onion, tomato, and top with shredded cheese
5. Serve with tortilla chips
Voila, you're done! My sister and some of my friends have added salsa to it and you could also add shredded lettuce; I've done it with both meat AND refried beans before- you can really make it any way you like. But I have found that the simplest recipe is the best.
