DIY Oil Pulling Tablets

If you missed my post about what you need to know about oil pulling, you can find that here. Oil pulling is something I have added to my morning routine and although it took some getting used to, I love it! The tablets I make allow for my routine to go even smoother in the mornings. All I do is pop one in my mouth and swish as I do things like let the dogs out and feed them, wash my face, etc.

Here's what you'll need:
1. Silicone molds or ice cube tray
2. Coconut oil
3. Essential oil of your choice

I used lemon because it is antiseptic, strengthens gums and helps to whiten teeth. Some other good essential oils for oral health are clove, cinnamon, spearmint, peppermint, myrrh, and rosemary.

Here's what you'll do:
1. Heat your coconut oil so it turns to liquid form. I made six molds at a time so I would heat six tablespoons. If you are using an ice cube try with 12 molds, you would heat 12 tablespoons.

2. Drop in essential oil. For six molds I put in 3-4 drops. If you were making 12 molds I would use 6 drops.

3. Pour into molds and place in refrigerator for an hour. Pop out and put into container for storage in the refrigerator {should not be stored at room temperature}.

Wine & Wish {Featuring Hewitson LuLu}

It's time for another Wine & Wish post where I share a new wine to try as well as a beautiful home to envy and wish for while sipping said wine! It's my favorite thing to do after a long days work or on a Saturday afternoon and I love sharing my finds with you!

Wine

 Aromatic herbaceous notes balanced seamlessly with hints of cut capsicum, Finnish blackcurrant leaf and freshly squeezed lemon. The palate expresses intense fresh grassy and tropical fruit characters, leading into a crisp but lingering finish. The wine shows a precise balance of structural acidity and vibrant varietal flavors, a true expression of the season and vineyard.

Hewitson LuLu Savignon Blanc

Wish

Another season of Southern Charm is back on Bravo and it's safe to say I am obsessed! Who else adores Patricia, Whitney's mom? She is Southern charm to a t!! And so is her beautiful home, the Isaac Jenkins Mikell House. Gosh I would just love to live in a mansion like this one!

Lib's Grill {Restaurant Feature/ Review}

Location: 5009 Honeygo Center Drive Perry Hall, Maryland 21128 in the Honeygo Village Shopping Center. The shopping center is filled with other restaurants, boutiques, and health services so the parking directly in front of the restaurant fills up quickly. There is a larger lot behind the building which is where I would recommend parking {and going through the restaurant's back entrance}.

Prices: So here's the scoop... Saturday's and Sunday's at lunch time they serve a limited menu for brunch. All other times they serve the entire lunch and dinner menu which has a snack section with items priced under $5. I LOVE that section {I personally can vouch for the deviled eggs, edamame, sriracha ranch dip, and pretzels with beer cheese} but since we were there on a Saturday we had to choose from a small list of appetizers priced between $6-$14. All other prices are normal... not great but I wouldn't say it's overpriced either. Our bill ended up being $57 for 3 beers, an orange crush, fried oyster appetizer, and 2 sandwiches. It was expense for a lunch but standard considering we got 4 alcoholic drinks... man alcoholic drinks are expensive I think I need to stick to water! ;)

Food: The fried oysters were okay... I've had better. They came out warm not piping hot like I would prefer and I couldn't figure out what sauce I liked... the hollandaise was too bland and the black sriracha just wasn't my thing. Look how big Jon's tenderloin sandwich was!! He enjoyed his even though it was very hard to eat. His meat was very tender! I got the chicken sandwich assuming it was going to be fried {it didn't specify so this is just what I was thinking for some reason} and was disappointed when it came out grilled. That disappointment went away quickly though because it was cooked perfectly and juicy. The rest of the sandwich however was so so bland! The description on the menu said it would have honey mustard on it so I thought that would give it a nice flavor but I was wrong. I'm not sure it was even honey mustard... looked and tasted more like a grain mustard. I should have gone with the crab cake sandwich for 5 extra bucks.

Ambiance: We ate at the bar which was very comfortable but then again there weren't many people at the bar. It's a very pretty bar with granite countertops and dark lighting. They also have chalkboard walls where they write specials, drinks, and their oyster list. There's a glass wall dividing the bar and dining area- The dining area caries over the same feel just a little less casual. Lighting is dark and the area is filled with both booths and tables dressed with linen napkins. This is definitely a place you could come with family and sit in the dining area for a nice dinner but also a place you could come for drinks and appetizers with friends and feel like you are having a night out!

Weekend Recap

Whoooo writes a weekend recap post on a Wednesday??? Me. Life has been so busy that it has really come down to me recapping my weekend on a Wednesday. So here we go: Last Friday Jon worked a double. I worked my normal day and then came home to have a low key night by myself. Sometimes you need those kind of nights. Saturday morning we were up bright and early for dentist appointments. Y'all, I really hate the dentist and I've let my fear keep me away for far too long. Overall the appointment went well but a couple of things came up so I have 2 more appointments over the next few months. Ugh! I should've never waited this long. After our appointments we headed next door to Lib's Grill for lunch... and drinks... I definitely needed to reward myself with a beer. The day was gloomy and rainy which kind of put a damper on our plan to order some gravel for our patio area out back of our house. Instead, we just went to Lowe's to gather all the supplies we will need when we eventually do the patio {this weekend! pending weather}. Next we stopped at Jon's sister's house to visit with our niece and nephew. Jon's sister had just gotten 4 teeth taken out so we stayed for a while to help with the kids who happen to be THE BEST! She was feeling awful so when it was time to leave we packed up our little niece to bring her home with us. A few quick errands and before we knew it, it was 9pm when we were finally getting home from our very long day with toddler in tow! I whipped up some tacos for dinner and then we called it a night. I just want to say how FUN our niece Emma is! We seriously love her so so much. By Sunday evening I was pretty much exhausted {kids and running around non stop will do that to ya I guess} and didn't feel like cooking so we decided to use up some Chili's gift cards that we had laying around. Afterwards we gathered on the sofa to watch The Walking Dead! Monday morning I worked from home because later that day we were going downtown for Opening Day!! I worked my butt off before getting ready and meeting one of my best friends downtown for lunch. She so graciously treated Jon and I to some a-m-a-z-i-n-g seats at the game and we all had such a great time spent with friends. Too much beer and a whole lot of rain really did me in and when I walked through the door Monday night I literally went straight to bed. Tuesday morning came way too fast and I was up at 7am back to reality. Whew! What. a. weekend.
