Five on Friday

2. I have recently fallen in love with Neutrogena's Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. You can use it two ways... as a cleanser or a mask. I'll do a full post of my skin care routine (I keep it simple) next week. But rest assured, this is a great product!


 

3. About six months ago I made my own laundry detergent for the first time. The batch that I made has lasted me THIS long! And for a point of reference, I have a 2 person & 3 pet (that means things get dirty fast) household. It's time to make another batch and I'm so glad I turned to DIY'ing this, instead of spending tons of money on chemically loaded detergent from the store. 4. Are there any girls out there who used to buy London Jeans sold by Victoria's Secret? They were my FAVORITE jeans! The quality was impeccable and they fit me better than any other jean. Unfortunately VS stopped selling them. Now I need to find a new brand of jean. Suggestions please! And go!

5. My hair has gotten pretty long and it's just plain annoying. I have REALLY THICK hair so it gets heavy and hard to style. I am considering getting it cut this weekend and donating to locks of love. The only thing standing in my way is my husband... he loves my long hair. So stay tuned to see what I decide!

Weekend Recap

Why did Monday have to arrive so fast?? As I was laying in bed last night with a pounding headache, I thought that being able to sleep in the next morning would be really nice. But then I realized tomorrow was Monday and I would have to be up early for another work week. womp womp! Weekends always fly by. 

 

Saturday morning we had lunch at Mamas on the Halfshell. French toast and huevos rancheros... yes please!

Unfortunately two people in my life are in the hospital right now for different reasons. After brunch, Jon and I headed to Johns Hopkins Bayview to spend the day with one of those people. On our way home we received great news about our other special person. Thank you Jesus! Saturday evening I cooked up some soup using this recipe. I added broccoli and a can of cream of cheddar soup and it was absolutely delicious. It made enough for Jon and I to have on Sunday and for lunch today.

Sunday we attended the Ravens game. Although we lost, we still had a great time and we will ALWAYS be Ravens fans. This isn't our season but that's okay! Ravens games always seem to tire us out so when we got home I cooked up BLT's {using the leftover bacon we had from the soup} and relaxed on the sofa. The perfect way to end the weekend!

Friday Randoms

1. I love the Instagram of Nesting With Grace! Like me, she has a small home and I just love seeing how she makes it work. I've always wanted a piano but thought it wouldn't be possible in my size space. Maybe I'm wrong because Brooke fit hers right in front of her staircase. 

Conveniently I currently have nothing in front of mine. So what do y'all think... should I keep it the way it is or get a piano that I've always wanted!?

 

2. I stumbled across a new nail polish concept that does not require uv lamps and lasts 2-3 weeks just like gel polish. Check out Oceans of Beauty by Christy Allysen! I can't wait to try it.

3. I'm loving my new double cross ring. I bet you can't guess where I got it or how much I paid for it...

Veterans Day

My great grandfather, Willie Roscoe Hunt, made the ultimate sacrifice on August 15th 1950 in the Korean War. He left behind a loving wife and 3 young children. I am proud, honored, and grateful to be his great granddaughter.

& on that note... Happy Veterans day to all past and present service members. You are the reason I sleep in my nice warm bed at night, safe and free. THANK YOU!
