We just returned from staying at our family beach house in Ocean City, Maryland for a week. Every year we go down for the last week of August because we like to be there while celebrating our wedding anniversary {August 31st}. We always return on the Sunday of labor day weekend because we like to avoid the traffic of everyone coming back on Monday to get to work on Tuesday. We made the mistake of sitting in 8 hours worth of traffic one year and vowed to never do it again!
It wouldn't be a Ciemny vacation without a couple of hiccups like torrential downpour, a flat tire, colder weather, and finding out that swim diapers don't actually hold urine {mom fail} but we didn't let any of that effect us! We were able to spend a few days at the beach, enjoy the pool, take a drive out to Assateague Island, shop the outlets, walk the boardwalk, have a date night, play mini golf, and get professional photos done on the beach {I'll share those pictures later this week, so check back here}... all with juggling our baby's nap times and early bedtime!
This is our cute little beach house... and it's for sale too!
We are on the bay side at 117th street
But when it comes to taking the baby to the beach, I make sure we have EVERYTHING!

A windy overcast day means we walk the boardwalk

Good morning! Today's a day for the pool

Look at her eyeing up the pizza! {it was my first time at Grotto's and I'll definitely be back}
Flat tire = we walk to dinner
... and treat ourselves to cookie dough ice cream

On our last evening, we had dinner with family and it was the perfect ending to our vacation. See you next year, Ocean City!

My husband seriously has no idea how lucky he is that his wife is as simple as it comes when doing hair and make-up! {Plus I just don't like packing a lot so I left most things at home} - Mai Tai Sea Salt Spray
