Wedding Wednesday

Spring/Summer wedding season is officially hereeeee. If you have more than one wedding to go to this season, trust me you are not alone! In fact this time of year has become so popular to get married that next May my best friend and a good friend from high school are getting married on the same exact day. Talk about coincidence!

I've started thinking about some outfit ideas for a wedding that I'll be attending this season (and I'm not talking about my own lol)- I feel like it is fairly simple for us girls to style a wedding outfit. Often times a great maxi or a simple summer dress is perfect paired with neutral colored wedges or Jack Rogers sandals. And as simple as it all came together, you look flawless and like you put a lot of time into it.

Let's talk about the guys now- they just throw on a simple suit that's been hanging in their closet for years and call it a day. To be honest, they end up looking like they didn't put much effort or care into the way they look and I think it's about time we change that. So girls, here are a couple of suits I'm interested in for Jon. They are all from BONOBOS new collection of Seersucker and Cotton suits (oh how I have a weakness for all things seersucker!).

More importantly they have style and they look great next to the ensemble options I chose for myself. I have confidence that Jon and I will look great. Check out BONOBOS for more men's suits so you and your man can look flawless together this wedding season!!!

We fiesta'd like there was no mañana

.... Except for there is. I had one too many of these last night in celebration of Cinco de Mayo (who doesn't love an excuse to eat a whole bunch of Mexican food and drink margaritas?) Stay tuned for tomorrow's post- I just don't have it in me today ;)

Weekend Recap

Let's get right to it, shall we?

Saturday morning I volunteered at the BARCS vaccine clinic as I do the first Saturday of every month. If you are in the Baltimore area I highly recommend bringing your pets. I for instance take my pets to see our regular vet yearly for check ups but when it comes to getting the shots, I take them to the vaccine clinic. The clinic provides low cost rabies, distemper, microchip, and licensing. Why pay the high prices at the vet when you can save yourself money elsewhere? Plus all proceeds go to the animal shelter. It's a win, win!

Because I was volunteering, I was unable to attend the One Million Pibble March which was held in DC. I was so disappointed that I missed it! For anyone else who missed it, here is Rebecca Corry's speech.

"I am shocked by how many people don't even know BSL exists in America and by how many Americans think dog fighting ended when a cowardly mediocre football player got caught." -Rebecca Corry

Saturday evening I went home to Bel Air to celebrate my brother's 19'th birthday. We had a crab feast and watched the Kentucky Derby. It was great family time and I really enjoyed it!

Sunday seemed to drag on because by then I hadn't seen my fiance since Friday night and I wouldn't see him until Monday evening (he works doubles on both Saturday and Sunday- 8 more hours of work until I'm off and headed to celebrate Cinco de May with him!). So I spent the day getting some house work done then I headed out for some pampering... tanning and nails! This time I went with a light pink color because this Wednesday is our engagement session with our photographer and I wanted something subtle.

How was your weekend?

It's Five on Friday!

1. 121 days until Jon and I say "I do" and 122 days until our 8 year dating anniversary. Yes, we are getting married one day before!!! I didn't plan it that way though. When we toured our venue, I fell in love with it but was so bummed to find out they were completely booked for Fall 2014 and was starting to fill up Spring 2015. That's when I was told that August 31, 2014 had JUST opened up!!! I knew it was meant to be! Our wedding website

2. I ordered this headboard through walmart.com and of course went through ebates so I could earn money back on my purchase. At only $59 (with free shipping) this headboard was too good to pass up. I've been looking for a headboard for a while now (we haven't had one for our bed in years)... and if you follow my blog or know me, you might see that I'm always buying things- BUT I always shop smart and make sure I'm getting a good deal first (and when I DO get a good deal, I love to share it with others!). So I went ahead with this headboard even though on the walmart website it doesn't look too appealing. I just had a feeling it would work out! And it looks really good even though the picture isn't that great... the lighting in my room is terrible and we are waiting to get new bedding for our wedding ;)

3. I also went ahead and bought these pet beds. At 40" by 40" they are the size of a large dog bed but only with a price tag of $25. They have a removable cover for easy washing and are simply perfect for my dogs.

4. Sunday I get to catch up on all my shows that I missed during the week. I have to say I'm a sucker for a good ole (sometimes trashy and dramatic) reality show!

5. This coming Wednesday we are having our engagement session done with our photographer. I am really excited/nervous (I don't know why) but I can't figure out what to wear. I have a beautiful yellow and white dress that would match the BCBG wedges that I got last year. Or I have a green dress that would match a pair of green and blue wedges that I got from DSW last year. But would I rather wear flat sandals? If so I could wear these sandals that I just got from DSW and pair it with this dress that I was actually considering for my bridal shower. Ughhhh decisions decisions!

My Home, Tour My Kitchen

Welcome to my kitchen! I've included links to as many things as possible. I hope you enjoy seeing what I've done with my small space. I still need to get curtains for my little window and then I feel like it'll really be complete! I'm considering the same curtains I have in my master bathroom; found here.
