He thinks cats are funny to watch and loves kids. Kennedy is housetrained, crate trained and respectful on a leash. He is the perfect little family companion, at 40 lbs fully grown. Kennedy is a lot of love packed in to a small but very athletic body. He enjoys going out in public, running, hiking, playing and chasing balls but it just as content snuggling on the sofa with his foster brother and sister, who are both bully breeds. Brutus adoptable through Bella's Bully Buddies

Brutus started off being left at the front steps of BARCS, couldn't move and only weighed 42lbs. Even though someone let this happen to him he still showed affection as much as he could. He has now put on more than twice his weight but still could gain a little more! He has been living with a trainer and working on his manners which are coming along wonderfully. He is still a rottie and a puppy so its always going to be an ongoing process but well worth it! This guy hasn't met anyone he doesn't like including children which he has shown to be gentle with :) He is learning play manners from a multitude of other dogs, big and small and truly enjoys being around them. Like any rottie his favorite thing is getting attention from people and acting like a lap dog!!  He loves playing with his ball on a rope and flinging it around. His adopters must agree to continue Brutus' training.  To adopt Brutus, please fill out an application at http://bellasbullybuddies.org/bbb-webapp/adoptionApplication/index

Bernadette adoptable at Animal Advocates of Baltimore County

Say "Hello" to my new best friend, Bernadette, Animal ID #0351. She is the kind of girl you want to hang out with all day. Bernadette, is a stray from Towson, MD, arrived at BCAC on 2/7/14 and can go home with you by 2/13/14 (just in time... to share Valentines Day together). She is a spayed, 3 year old, female, terrier/chocolate lab mix. I had so much fun with Bernadette Saturday, even though she did most the work while I giggled. She knows, sit, shake and down. She loves playing with an over-sized tennis ball. She eventually ends up on her back rolling around with so much joy with the over-sized tennis ball in her mouth! When walking her through the kennels she has done little meet and greats with other dogs and showed no negative signs, just lots of sniffing. Please consider having Bernadette as your next love-bug waiting at home for you, after a hard day of work.

At Home Teeth Whitening

What you'll need:

1. Toothpaste
2. Teaspoon of baking soda
3. Teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide

First run your toothbrush through water. Then put some toothpaste on your toothbrush.

Sprinkle some baking soda on top. Lastly, pour a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide on top. Do this once a week until you reach the results you are looking for. After that, repeat only about once every month or two.

Please disregard the awful picture of me. I was still half asleep when I took it this morning.

Support SB247 and Help Save Dogs from Entering Maryland Shelters

Hi guys! So this post is more of a personal plea.  My family and friends are probably so sick and tired of hearing about abused and neglected dogs, or about dogs who need out of the shelter before they are euthanized- but this isn't about that... I promise.  This is a call to action to stop many dogs from entering the shelter in the first place.

Tomorrow, Feb 6th is the Senate Judiciary hearing where compromise dog bite legislation ...bill SB247 will be discussed. This bill, if enacted, would overturn the Solesky ruling deeming Pit bulls inherently dangerous and holding third parties liable in dog bite cases. SB247 is fair to both the owner and victim and treats all breeds with equality.

In order for SB247 to pass it must first make it out of the Senate Judiciary Committee by majority vote, UNAMENDED. This is where we lost last year. If an amendment is added to this bill it will once again quickly die. This cannot happen-
thousands of family dogs are being forced into crowded shelters and ultimately are being euthanized because of this. This may very well be our last chance.

If you have just 2 minutes in your day, please call the Constituents Services at 410-974-3591 and leave a message stating you are IN FAVOR of passing HB 73 and SB247 with no amendments. All calls will be tallied and the numbers presented to the legislature.

Or if you'd like, please email the representatives below:

Robert A. (Bobby) Zirkin- bobby.zirkin@senate.state.md.us

This is King. He is a 9 month old pit bull who was a family pet. He does great with other dogs and young children, he is lovable, he is housetrained, and he knows basic commands.  His family was forced to surrender him to the animal shelter because their landlord would not allow King to live there… because of the Solesky ruling. Thankfully, Baltimore Bully Crew has pulled King from the shelter and he is currently doing wonderfully in a foster home and waiting for his forever home. But there are many other dogs just like King who don’t get a happy ending and end up being euthanized. If you’ve ever loved a pit bull please do something. Heck if you aren’t a pit bull person, a dog person, or even a pet person at that… please do something; because SB247 will protect the community and ensure a safe society.

You can't complain of injustice when you didn't do your part to stop it. Please contact today! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Wedding Registry

Jon and I have been together for 7 1/2 years and we own our house so we certainly aren't starting from scratch when we get married.  With that being said, there are still A LOT of things that we need. I'm going to share some of my registry favorites and why. I think this is going to be helpful for you bride to be's who are in the same boat I'm in! You can see my entire registry here and here.

Pottery Barn:

Embroidered sheet set. I obviously already have sheets but certainly not the kind of quality that pottery barn is. I also like that these will have our monogram on them.

Metal bucket with stand. Perfect for entertaining and could also be used as a plant stand.

Casual plates and bowls. To use every day.

Personalized luggage tags. One for each of us; engraved with our names and address.

Silver plated wedding album. What we need to keep our photos in so we can remember our special day forever.

Shower caddy. A great way to organize all of our shower products.

Hamper. Need I say more? Obviously an essential.

Display box. For our wedding rings. Personalized with our initials.

Macys:

Fine china. To use on holidays and special occasions.

Stainless flatware. To go with our fine china on holidays and special occasions.

Toasting flutes. Essential for the wedding.

Cake knife and server. What we'll use at our wedding.

Guest book. Perfect for the reception and to display photos.

Luggage. We need this for our honeymoon.

Vacuum. Because I'm obsessed with keeping my floors in tip top shape.

3 tier shelf. I plan to use this as bathroom storage but could be used in any room of the house.

Incorporating Pets in Your Wedding

My 3 boys are my life, my babies, my heart. Without them I wouldn't be whole... they are my family. I really want them to be a part of our big day. I would just love for Corrado and Harley to walk down the isle, but let's be real... that isn't going to happen. Not only because the venue probably doesn't allow pets but because it would be a complete mess. I can totally picture Corrado having to say hi to every. single. guest. and Harley just sitting right on top of someone for a kissing session.

So I've done some thinking. We are offering guests the option to make a donation to BARCS (in lieu of gifts) in Duke, Corrado, and Harley's names.  Because each of them are rescued pets. You can view our charity wedding registry here.

My venue also has a large screen in the area where cocktail hour is.  They told me I can put together a slideshow of pictures and they will play it on the screen for my guests to view as they enjoy some hor d'oeuvres and drinks. Then a light went off in my head! In the middle of pictures of Jon and I, I am going to throw in some pictures of my boys.

For those of you in the wedding planning process, I highly recommend asking your venue if you can display some photos in a slideshow fashion. It is the PERFECT way to incorporate your pets in your wedding :)
